Our Story
Welcome to Underground Mini Golf, the most immersive—and literally underground—entertainment experience at the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Born from a passion for California’s vibrant history and a love for family-friendly competition, we set out to create more than just a golf course.
Located in the historic basement of the old Union Hotel, our course sits amidst authentic 1860s brickwork—walls that survived the very floods and fires that shaped the Sacramento we know today.
Our Course
Forget rusty old windmills, our 18-hole indoor course is a chronological retelling of the 1849 Gold Rush.
Your journey begins in Independence, Missouri, where you'll gather supplies before embarking on a "6-month" wagon trip across the Great Plains and over the treacherous Donner Pass.
Along the way, you’ll encounter:
- Immersive Artwork: Hand-painted murals by local artist Matthew Trammel that bring every "chapter" of the trail to life.
- Interactive Challenges: Spin our "Challenge Wheels" to add a twist to your game... will you have to putt with your eyes closed or balancing on one leg?
- Historical Landmarks: From the historic Fort Ross to getting thrown in 1849 Sacramento's Sheriff’s Department (perfect for a "behind bars" photo).
